In a storied building built in 1921 sits the ZOO Bar, a narrow nightspot that’s been a staple for live music in downtown Lincoln since 1973.

Some big time acts have walked through the hallowed club’s doors including Buddy Guy, Bo Diddley, Albert Collins and Otis Rush.

Throughout 2014, a variety of bands will play on the same stage graced by those blues legends in honor of ZOO Bar’s 41st anniversary.

"Heartfelt singing and a merciless guitar with a wicked icy burn...Montoya is a show-stopper...he swings like a jazz man and stings like the Iceman. He is one of the truly gifted blues artists of his generation."

His sound is rooted in the classic Windy City blues sound of decades past: rough-edged and uncompromising and satisfying in the extreme. He's one of the last real traditionalists in town.
